Houston has changed a ton over the last few years and it is definitely for the better. Outsiders know Houston as a flat, corporate oil & gas city, and there is NASA somewhere too. The flat part may be true, but we have so much more to offer than just a great job market! I love all the new creative spaces popping up around the city and Silver Street is one of them.
Silver Street is a creative studio space with 20,000 square feet available for rental and various events located between the historic Heights neighborhood and Downtown (the downtown view is pretty spectacular, sorry I didn’t get a photo of it). This weekend they are hosting the Eats at Silver Street event with cool food trucks, music, and antiques for sale.
There were only three food trucks to choose from on Friday night, but they were all good! I got the happy hour fries with cheese, sour cream, chives, chicken and there was other stuff on it too, I can’t recall. I didn’t finish them, glad I opted not to get a burger too, but they were delicious. I even had someone come up to me and ask where I got them. 🙂 Pro tip: have a friend model your fries for the picture.
We got there around 7:30 pm and left around 9:00. It never got very crowded, but that was the cool part. There was a very chill vibe, and finally the weather was chilly too! The whole mood reminded me of the walk along the South Bank in London, just no London Eye in sight.
There were even things for Harry Potter fans.
And this shop with adorable dresses for little girls!
