Sunday was a two-year anniversary since
I signed my life away we closed on our townhouse. While 2014 was an exciting and productive year, this year I can’t even say that we dropped the ball, because honestly we never picked the ball up… more than that – we never purchased the ball!
But it was nice to take a break and rest. We are gearing up to tackle the office/guest-room very-very soon; for now it’s still rocking the maroon popcorn textured walls (just thinking about plastering makes me cringe).
Nonetheless, there have been a few tiny updates. In the spring we built a trellis and planted vine jasmine. Both have held up great! Now we just need to tame those bushes!
On the other side of the patio I moved the leaf fig that never stood a chance of surviving inside. Also I never got around to sealing the blue chair’s cushion with water proof solution, so it got
a little moldy… And the little rug has seen some better days. But hey, the red chair, patio borders, and gardenias are doing great (gardenias bloomed three times this year!)
The only change inside is that I took one of the shelved out (there were 4 before) and tried to arrange some picture frames, but still have not figured out if I like them or not… and the pictures in the frames are the stock ones that came with them, which I would like to replace with some photographs I have taken.
We added a dear head on the left wall for decoration, but I discovered that it works great for hanging my purses and keys so that side of the room has become my dumping station for my out-of-the-door essentials.
I also added a few things to the bathroom shelves. It’s probably a little weird to have a “True Love Lives Forever and Ever” sign above the toilet, but I haven’t found another place for it and I kinda like it there :). The wood carved decor is from World Market and I really like it! And the candles are from my trip to Hawaii in February.
That’s it for now. Maybe we’ll get a few more projects done before the year ends, but I am not betting on it. 🙂
